Two robbery suspects on the lam in Bradenton

MANATEE — The sheriff’s office is searching for two suspects who are believed to have robbed a 54-year-old man in an elevator Wednesday morning, according to a media release.

The suspects were inside the elevator at about 9 a.m. in the 3800 block of Lake Bayshore Drive when the victim entered the elevator from the fifth floor.

Once the doors closed a male suspect, believed to be between 16 and 25, pointed a black handgun at the victim and demanded his wallet, the release said. The suspects then fled from the elevator with the victim’s wallet which had $180 in cash and an Amscot money order inside.

The suspect with the weapon is described to be about 5-feet, 5-inches tall, about 180 lbs. with a heavy build and shoulder-length brown hair. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue jean shorts, the release said.

The other suspect said to be in his 30s, was about 6-feet tall, weighing 170 lbs. He was last seen wearing a maroon tank top and black jean shorts.
