MANATEE -- A 19-old-man has been charged with robbing a Manatee business at gunpoint on Wednesday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies Thursday arrested Tarvis Lawrence after he was identified as the suspect in the robbery of the Botanica Las Tres Croces, 6320 15th St. E. During the hold-up, the suspect pointed a gun at an employee, threatened to kill her and demanded money, according to the sheriff's office.
Lawrence was located at his home in the 5900 block of 11th Street East, where he attempted to flee, but deputies were able to quickly take him into custody. A loaded .22-caliber pistol he was carrying was identified as the gun used in the robbery, according to the sheriff's office.
