BRADENTON -- A man was hit by a semitrailer Wednesday afternoon as he attempted to flee from officers, the Bradenton Police Department reports.
Officers had gone to Bradenton Village Apartments at 101 15th Ave. Circle W. at about 2:30 p.m. to arrest a fugitive on a warrant.
Quadrian Harris, 19, who was inside a vehicle at the apartment complex, jumped out when officers approached and led police on a foot chase, according to a sergeant with the Bradenton Police Department narcotics unit.

A man working at a construction site nearby said he saw officers chasing Harris and commanding him to stop.
“We heard them yell, ‘Get down,’ and the one guy hopped the fence and got hit,” he said.
When Harris cleared the fence he ran straight into oncoming traffic on First Street and was struck by a semi.
He then attempted to get up and flee, the sergeant said. But Harris had sustained an ankle injury and was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital for treatment.
As Harris ran he was seen throwing several small bags of marijuana onto the ground, the sergeant said. Police said Harris will be charged with resisting arrest without violence and possession of marijuana with intent to sell.
A passenger in Harris’ car, Maurice Hird, 27, did not flee from officers and was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell. He is currently in Manatee County jail on a $2,500 bond.
