BRADENTON -- There were no injuries in a boat fire Saturday night in Bradenton, the Bradenton Fire Department reports.
The department received a call about 8:30 p.m. for a fire on a 42-foot sailboat named Kid-O that was tied up at Twin Dolphin Marina off 10th Street West and First Avenue West.
Four fire trucks responded to the scene to contain the blaze, according to Battalion Chief Garry Lawson.
“The grandson was on the boat at the time, but we are trying to locate the boat’s owner,” he said. The fire was contained inside the boat. No fuel leaked out of the boat into the water.
“It’s not going to sink,” Lawson said. The cause of the fire remains under investigation and the amount of damage was not available immediately.
