Eight vehicles burglarized in Ellenton neighborhoods

MANATEE -- Two people wearing all black, and who are suspected to be juvenile males, may have been involved in eight vehicle burglaries in three Ellenton neighborhoods early Saturday morning, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office reports.

The incidents occurred in the Covered Bridge, Ridgewood Mobile Home Park and Oak Creek neighborhoods, a media release said. The communities are within a short distance of each other and the same culprits could have been involved.

Deputies became aware of the vehicle burglaries after a victim flagged down a deputy and told him two vehicles that had been burglarized, the media release said. A red backpack and a black Motorola GPS were taken from Reports came in later in the morning about six more vehicles that has been broken into. In all instances, the vehicles were left unlocked and among the items taken are two hand guns, ammunition, two GPS systems, house keys, and a Sunpass.

 All vehicles were processed for latent prints and some were lifted, the release said.
