2 arrested in early morning vehicle burglary

MANATEE -- Two men were arrested early this morning in connection with a vehicle burglary in the 4200 block of 53rd Ave. West, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reports.
A member of the sheriff's vehicle burglary task force observed two males rummaging through a vehicle on the side of the road about 1:04 a.m.
As the sheriff's sergeant pulled up to the vehicle, a suspect later identified as Jason Gray, 24 came from the driver’s side with some items in his hand. The other suspect, later identified as Justin Eastridge, 23, ran from the passenger’s side into Center Court Apartments, the sheriff's office reported.
Patrol units saturated the area and both suspects were detained. Further investigation revealed that the passenger’s window had been smashed out to gain entry and some items from the vehicle were found nearby in the grass. The victim was contacted by phone and confirmed that he did not know either one of the suspects and that the items found were from his vehicle. Both suspects were arrested.
