Bradenton hammer attack sends 4 to hospital

MANATEE — When Michael J. Roberts, 35, was booked into the Manatee County jail at 3:50 p.m. Friday the gauze over his right eyebrow was proof he had been through something rather intense.

A Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report said a hammer fight at a pink duplex in the 1000 block of 30th Avenue East left four people with non-life threatening head injuries, including Roberts.

The incident began at 9:30 a.m. Friday when two males, including Roberts and a man only known as “Stan,” drove to the pink duplex to sell a PlayStation, said sheriff’s spokesman Randy Warren.
