MANATEE -- Muggers stole $4 in change from a man while he was walking in the 1400 block of 53rd Avenue West on Friday morning, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
About 10:48 a.m., the man was walking to the Magic Mile shopping plaza to buy cigarettes. When he passed the suspects, they asked him for money. He declined and began running from them as they approached, according to the sheriff's office.
The victim was hit on the head from behind and was knocked out. When he regained consciousness, his change was missing from his right front pocket, according to the sheriff's office.
