Motion lights around a home or business can not only help light up a path, but they can also deter robbers, the Manatee sheriff's office says.
According to a media release, thieves are less likely to break into a car, home or office if the area has light surrounding it. One obvious reason: The light allows property owners, neighbors and law enforcement a way to see any would-be robbers.
To save on your electric bill, the sheriff's office suggests using a motion sensor.
